5 Day Professionals

Let's start out with a round of applause for Joseph and myself for making it through our first official week as professional radio hosts without any critical technical errors or hefty FCC fines.

Done clapping yet? I'll wait.

Now that the applause has died down...what a week it was! A ton of great guests, great times, and even better memories. I hope you guys have enjoyed what you've heard so far. Vitamin GK can be a bit of a system shock upon first dosage, but trust me, you'll get used to the immense emotional high hearing two grown men argue about Larry Hughes ("Huge" if you ask my selective-memoried co-host) shortly. The show will only get better, so stick by our side through the embarrassing "We've got Joe from Lakewood on the phone...Joe?...Joe? Uhh Joe?" moments" and we won't let you down.

The week ahead is going to be something special. Its MARCH MADNESS WEEK on the program! WOOOOOOOHOOOOOO! By the time this week is out, we'll be more worn out then 'Cuse after the Big East tourney (If Jonny Flynn couldn't feel his legs after the epic with UCONN, how do you think he's feeling after ANOTHER OT struggle with Huggy Bear's Mountaineers?) The guest list? Why, its even more A-List than a post Oscar party. Take a look.

Monday: Zach Rosenfield, Accuscore.com analyst AND Leigh Klein, owner of 5Star Basketball Camps (Whose alumni include Michael Jordan, LeBron James, and serious Mike Krenek man crush The Durantula.)

Tuesday: Paul Bessire from WhatifSports.com

WOMEN'S WEDNESDAY (w/ Lovely Co-Host Kaitlin Lannon) Former Mon Don Women's Basketball Coach Bob Sonday and Championship Shot Putter from Jackson Shannon Watt.

Plus many many more. And when I say many, many, I'm not just telling tales around around school, babe. Its going to be packed to the brim with guesty goodness. And I'm not just whistlin' Dixie. And assorted other old man phrases for "I'm serious."

Also, we are proud to announce the debut of the THE SHORE SPORTS REPORT POOLHOST.COM MARCH MADNESS CHALLENGE! That's right folks, you're favorite handsome co-hosts are running a March Madness pool on the www.poolhost.com website. Will there be prizes? Oh yes indeed. What are the prizes? Well I can't tell you that just yet. But what I can tell you to do is to log on to the Poolhost.com website RIGHT NOW, set up a user name for yourself, and enter The Shore Sports Report Pool.

Pool Name: ShoreSportsReport
Password: ncaa (PASSWORDS ARE CASE SENSITIVE!!!!!)

Both Joe and myself will also be registered, so sign up and just try to top us! Prove our "expert" analysis wrong (I'm looking at you, Tyler from Toms River...that is if you read this blog.) Get involved and to the winner will go the spoils. And also to the person who finishes dead last will go a very special spoil. Trust me on that one.

Well folks, I've got to go remove my pants, fix a big bowl of Count Chocula and watch conference tourneys til my eyes fall out. I'll be posting again after my hot date with Greg Gumble Sunday evening (ahhh Selection Sunday) and of course, I'll be back with you on Monday at 3pm on Fox Sports 1310am. Until then, this has been Mike Krenek.

PS: Number 1s: Louisville, UNC, UConn, and Pitt (3 BIG EAST TEAMS??? WOOOAH!)
Number 2s: Memphis, Duke, Michigan State, Oklahoma (though keep your eye on Mizzou)

Allow Myself to Introduce Myself

Hello there monkeys, my name is Michael F. Krenek and you have stumbled upon my little corner of the web. You'll soon know me as the handsome half of the brand new daily show on Fox Sports 1310AM, "The Shore Sports Report." My intrepid co-host Joe Giglio and I will be entering into your homes (via the magic of radio...otherwise, we'd be headed to jail) every Monday thru Friday, 3-5pm, bringing you the biggest sports news from up and down the Jersey Shore. High school, college, national, you name it, we'll cover it. That's how we roll. We'll be talking to the top atheletes and coaches from all over New Jersey, plus some pro sports personalities. Think of our program as a delicious ice cream sundae. The top local and national sports stories will be the base of our show...the ice cream, if you will. (Any flavor you like...except Rum Rasin. Unless you're over the age of 75. ) The guests? A delicious topping! Joe and I will provide a unique "whipped cream" of humor (and forced analogies) that only we can bring to the table. What's the cherry you may ask? Why, your phone calls of course! From opening til closing, we'll be taking your calls on any sports topic your little hearts desire. Want to give us your expert opinion/analysis of the latest sports stories? Go right ahead! The show is from the Shore, for the Shore, by...well not BY the Shore, but by two guys who have lived on the Shore for many years. I'll be using this blog as a companion to the program, the chaser to the hard (yet tasty) shot of sports news you'll be taking every day. Here you'll be able to get my extended opinions and analysis and leave the obscene comments the FCC won't allow us to air! Something for everyone, I like to think.

A few quick things to know about me:
-I'm a die hard Seattle Seahawks, Seattle Mariners, and Indiana Pacers fan.
-I'm aware of how weird that makes me.
-I'm also aware the grand majority of you could care less about my favorite teams, so I'll keep the chatter to a minimum.
-I'm a proud graduate of Monsignor Donovan High School.
-I'm a semi-proud graduate of DeSales University in Allentown, PA.
-I've dreamed of being a sports talk radio personality since I was just a little fella.
-I really enjoy baked goods.

There you have it folks. Mike Krenek in a nutshell. Hopefully, we'll be getting to know each other better over these next few months. Don't forget to tune in to Fox Sports 1310AM every Monday-Friday from 3-5pm, starting Monday March 9th. Until then, I'm Mike Krenek, reporting from the Shore, for the Shore.
